Can a person lose their salvation? This question is a contentious one and not easy to answer. Ultimately only God knows the answer and the truth about where each person will spend eternity. But I do wish to present both sides of the debate and offer my own thoughts.
Many churches preach that all sins are equal in the sight of God. But we don’t live like we believe it. In fact in church there are some sins that are taboo to talk about. So what does the Bible say about all this? The answer might surprise you.
Can God forget? Yes, but not in the same way we forget something and then smack our foreheads and say “Whoops! I forgot!” God’s not one to literally forget something. But the Bible says He does, so what gives? I’m so glad you asked.
What exactly is sin? And what’s the big deal? We talk about how terrible sin is in God’s eyes and Jesus died for our sin, but we don’t always explain what it is or why it’s so bad. We just know it’s bad. As always, I’m turning to the Bible for the answers.
